After Grateful Seeds got hold of the much talked about Runtz cuttings, it was quite clear when considering possible crosses that this should be crossed with Key Lime Pie.
Partners from the La Kalada ranks had brought the Key Lime Pie cuttings to Spain in 2016 after visiting NorCal Genetics in Humboldt, California.
Key Lime Pie has a reputation as an extremely delicious cookie phenotype, which as its name suggests, produces lime pie-like aromas.
According to Grateful Seeds, most phenotypes follow the same pattern as Runtz in both aroma and appearance - with about 30% of phenotypes bending more towards Key Lime Pie, resulting in a certain pie-like quality to the aromas and flavours.
Key Lime Pie also seems to enhance the growth potential of the Runtz genetics as well as the yield: again, the performance of the combination has exceeded reasonable expectations.
