Jack Herer

Sensi Seeds' Jack Herer is an exemplary Haze hybrid. It is a timeless classic that has won countless Cups and has been used to breed many other varieties. It has also been used to develop medicinal varieties used in the production of standardised medicinal products.

It is estimated that about half of Jack Herer's pedigree is pure Haze, but the variety's grandparents include the original Northern Lights #5 cuttings and an exemplary Skunk #1 selected from a large population. These 1/4 shares of Northern Lights and Skunk put the wildest sativa expressions of Haze in check, as well as bringing them to a size that fits into more modest spaces.

Jack Herer is known as a vigorous grower and this trait has been preserved to this day. Its wing-like tops are covered in a diamond-clear frost. Many Jack Herer fans will also recognise the variety by its bright orange-reddish hairs.

The scent of Jack Herer is considered very recognisable. In addition to the aromatic pinene, most phenotypes have very high terpinolenic content, which is associated with a perceived sativa-type profile. It is also rich in karyophyllene, which adds a pungency reminiscent of cinnamon and black pepper and increases its aromatherapeutic potential.

The variety won the High Times Cannabis Cup main series in 1994 and the Sativa series in 1999. It has also won first place in the Highlife Cup main series and most recently in the Santa Cruz Cup Sativa series in 2018.
