Fresh Cantaloupe from Grateful Seeds is a sophisticated combination of the nuances of Fresca Melon and the genetics of Fruitjoy #20. This variety is like a summer fruit basket, where sweet melon, peach and papaya notes blend together to create an irresistibly fresh and enticing experience.

Fresca Melon is a cuttings variety selected by La Chanvrière (@lachanvriere), a close friend of Grateful Seeds. It is the result of a cross between Zkittlez x Watermelon Zkittlez, the brainchild of the US-based Dying Breed Seeds. Fresca Melon brings yield-boosting vigour and a shorter flowering period to the cross. It also gives sweet melon and ripe apricot aromas, balanced by acidic tropical notes, including passion fruit.

Fruitjoy #20 is a cross between Papaya and Barbara Bud and is a Grateful Seeds original. This variety, with its fermented fruit flavours, especially papaya, combines with Fresca Melon to create a most refreshing and flavoursome fruit blend. The offspring of this cross have passed Grateful Seeds' rigorous screening process, revealing an incredible terpene profile and a high quality resin expression.

The structure of Fruit Joy has been a key part of the selection process and the inclusion of this genetics in the cross balances Fresca Melon's high-yielding growth habit - making Fresh Cantaloupe individuals lower and more vigorous, while improving canopy density. Careful crossbreeding has also managed to retain the intense terpene profile of the parent melon, but by adding notes reminiscent of Fruitjoy's suckling and flavour syrups, the flavour has become even sweeter.

The breeding process has been done with an eye for trichomes and high quality resin has also been a key selection criterion. This variety is likely to remain a favourite with extract artisans in the coming seasons, making the seeds a noteworthy collector's item.
